OXbyEL Technologies Appoints New CFO and Launches Pilot Cleanup Program for 'Forever Chemicals'

OXbyEL Technologies Appoints Anthony J. Parkinson as CFO

OXbyEL Technologies, an innovative firm focused on water remediation and reclamation, has named Anthony J. Parkinson as its new Chief Financial Officer. This strategic appointment aligns with the company’s recent launch of a pilot program aimed at effectively eliminating harmful 'forever chemicals' from water resources, specifically at the ADEQ demonstration site near Tucson, Arizona.

Parkinson, who has served on OXbyEL's advisory board for the past year, brings a wealth of experience to the role. Notably, he co-founded Kronos, Inc. (now known as UKG), and has held significant positions, including General Partner of the esteemed Stanley Cup Champion New York Islanders. His expertise extends internationally, having managed European operations for Hasbro/Milton Bradley from London and contributed to the scalability of graphite processors Urbix Inc. based in Phoenix.

This pilot program at Tucson’s C-007A supply well, located downgradient of the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, represents the critical final testing phase of OXbyEL’s advanced electrochemical technology. This innovative system is designed to safely eliminate complex, persistent contaminants that conventional treatment methods struggle to handle. “We're gearing up to full scale for 2026,” announced Ed Ricci, CEO of OXbyEL. “I’m certain that Tony’s vibrance and vision will help us get there.”

Dr. Colleen Legzdins, OXbyEL’s VP Technology, who previously founded Axine Water Technologies, also emphasized the importance of this milestone: “Our technology targets persistent contaminants, ensuring their safe and efficient removal.” The results of this pilot will verify the efficacy of OXbyEL’s proprietary process ahead of their planned commercial rollout in both U.S. and international markets.

For more than a decade, Parkinson has immersed himself in sustainability-focused initiatives, collaborating with academic institutions such as the University of British Columbia and the University of Arizona. OXbyEL’s commitment to environmental sustainability is evident in its proprietary technologies, which aim to revolutionize water treatment practices.

The company produces cost-effective solutions that mitigate toxic pollutants, including pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and PFAS compounds—classified as 'forever chemicals' due to their resilience against conventional breakdown methods.

OXbyEL's unique electrochemical technology not only destroys these formidable contaminants but integrates seamlessly into existing filtration systems, thereby optimizing water purification processes and facilitating mineral recovery. “Our advanced closed-loop system provides low-temperature, low-cost solutions for effective water treatment, while ensuring zero liquid discharge,” Ricci noted.

As OXbyEL Technologies sets the stage for its involvement in the global fight against water pollution, stakeholders eagerly anticipate the significant contributions this pilot program and Parkinson’s leadership will bring. With the pressing challenges posed by water contamination globally, OXbyEL’s innovations stand poised to make a marked impact on the industry.
