Before its launch in Japan, KNOWS COFFEE made an impression in Kailua, Hawaii, with a pop-up event starting in early February. Located in the popular Manoa Chocolate Kailua Store, the event transformed a part of the store to present the KNOWS COFFEE atmosphere. Patrons enjoyed 100% Kona coffee prepared through two distinct brewing methods – Natural and Washed. Locals embraced the brand, providing high praise for its aesthetics and flavors, which add another dimension to the coffee experience.

Origin of the Brand: A Meeting with Douglas from Kona

The creation of KNOWS COFFEE was largely inspired by the encounter between KONA'S President Kazutaka Abe and Douglas McCann, a Kona coffee producer. Moved by Douglas’s dedication to his craft and the meticulous process of growing Kona coffee, Abe was determined to bring that exceptional flavor to Japan. Douglas’s expertise in both the common Washed method and the more complex Natural method paved the way for a unique offering. The Natural method, while challenging, enhances the fruity aroma and depth of flavor, distinguishing it from others in its category; therefore, the ability to experience these different brews was a vital aspect to introduce in Japan.
