Celebrating Creativity: The 2026 YoungArts Award Winners Announced

Celebrating the YoungArts Award Winners of 2026

On November 24, 2025, YoungArts proudly revealed the winners of the 2026 YoungArts Awards, celebrating 734 of the nation's most talented young artists in visual, literary, and performing arts. This prestigious program, active since 1981, uniquely honors exceptional talent among youth aged 15-18 across various artistic disciplines and provides essential support for their future careers in the arts.

Honoring Exceptional Talent

The YoungArts Award is not merely an accolade; it is a lifeline for young artists. The recipients, representing 39 states and the District of Columbia, will join a rich community of creatives who gain access to vital resources, mentorship, and opportunities tailored to sustain their artistic pursuits throughout their lifetimes. Through a competitive selection process involving nearly 13,000 applications across ten artistic disciplines—including classical music, dance, visual arts, and writing—the winners are acknowledged for their superior skills and unwavering commitment to their art.

Clive Chang, President and CEO of YoungArts, emphasized the importance of supporting young people in their artistic endeavors, stating, "If we give young people the validation to pursue artistic careers, then the arts in the United States will continue to thrive." By receiving recognition, not only do these young creatives affirm their talents, but they also gain a network of support encouraging them to visualize a sustainable future in the arts.

A Lifelong Community of Support

YoungArts winners become part of a broader community, connecting with past awardees and established artists, such as Daniel Arsham and Viola Davis. This extensive network consists of over 23,000 individuals who have paved the way in the arts, offering invaluable insights and guidance to the new cohort of winners.

Each award winner receives a monetary prize of $250, while an elite group distinguished as YoungArts Award Winners with Distinction—171 artists in total—will participate in National YoungArts Week scheduled for January 4-11, 2026, in Miami. During this week, selected artists will showcase their work, attend workshops, and receive mentoring from prominent figures in the arts, such as celebrated dancer Camille A. Brown.

Those who earn the Winners with Distinction title also have the chance to be nominated for the U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts, a top honor for high school seniors. YoungArts, as the sole nominating agency, submits candidates for this prestigious distinction, allowing them to compete for national recognition.

Supporting the Future of Arts

The support for YoungArts and its initiatives comes from generous donors across various sectors, ensuring that these talented artists receive ample financial backing and mentorship throughout their careers. Contributions from organizations and individuals affirm their commitment to nurturing the next generation of artists.

As YoungArts continues to amplify the voices of young creatives, it remains dedicated to investing in their futures, providing necessary tools and platforms to support their artistic journeys. The announcement of the 2026 YoungArts Award winners marks a critical moment that acknowledges the power of creativity and the importance of nurturing talents from a young age.
