Steno Announces Jon Hefler as New Vice President of Growth to Drive Expansion in Legal Market

Steno Strengthens Leadership with the Appointment of Jon Hefler

Steno, a leader in the world of technology-driven court reporting and litigation support services, has made a significant addition to its executive team. Jon Hefler, a seasoned veteran with over 20 years of experience in the court reporting industry, has been appointed as the new Vice President of Growth. This move is part of Steno's broader strategy to enhance its service offerings and increase its penetration in high-stakes legal markets, including the AmLaw 200 and Fortune 500 companies.

Hefler's impressive background makes him an ideal fit for this pivotal role. He has spent his career establishing and growing court reporting and litigation support businesses on a national scale. His expertise will be crucial as Steno seeks to deepen its impact within these prominent sectors of the legal industry. In his new position, Hefler will be tasked with designing and executing innovative growth initiatives to solidify Steno’s position as a top-tier service provider in the legal technology landscape.

This appointment comes on the heels of Steno's successful $49 million Series C funding round, led by Savano Capital Partners, which signifies immense confidence in the company's scalability and future initiatives.

Prior to joining Steno, Hefler served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Lexitas. He also held the title of President of the Premier court reporting division within the same organization. Earlier in his career, he was the Chief Executive Officer of NextGen Reporting and a Division President at U.S. Legal Support. Hefler’s journey began as a co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of TSG Reporting, which laid the groundwork for his long-standing commitment to supporting the legal industry.

Steno’s CEO, Prabhdeep Singh, expressed his enthusiasm about Hefler joining the team, stating, “Jon’s extensive, hands-on expertise in court reporting and litigation support will significantly enhance our capabilities. At Steno, our edge lies in being not only a cutting-edge tech company but also a high-touch service provider. Jon's deep understanding of the intricacies of court reporting ensures that we can offer unparalleled support as we expand.”

Hefler himself shared his excitement about joining Steno, stating, “After two decades in litigation support, I felt I had seen everything—but Steno has proven me wrong. The innovative approaches it takes to serve clients, invest in court reporters, and introduce state-of-the-art technology truly sets it apart. I am eager to collaborate with Prabhdeep and the leadership team to shape Steno’s future alongside our clients and the court reporter community.”

Hefler’s arrival is part of a series of strategic leadership changes at Steno, which recently included the appointments of Anjelica Garcia as Chief People Officer and Jeff Herscott as Senior Vice President, Head of Sales. These strategic enhancements, alongside Singh's transition from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Executive Officer, illustrate Steno’s commitment to building a robust team prepared for national growth.

Steno is recognized for its innovative approach in the court reporting and legal technology sectors. The firm focuses on providing legal professionals with state-of-the-art tools and options designed to navigate the challenges presented in the courtroom environment. This commitment to overcoming technological and financial barriers allows Steno to serve as a vital partner in the pursuit of justice.
