Smartee's First GS Summit in Cologne Marks a New Era in Orthodontic Innovation
On November 27, 2025, Smartee Denti-Technology held its first GS Summit in Cologne, Germany, marking an important milestone in its ongoing commitment to clinical excellence in the DACH region. This event was designed specifically for orthodontists, fostering collaboration and innovation in mandibular repositioning technologies. The summit's theme, ‘Redefining Adult Mandibular Repositioning with Aligner Therapy,’ brought together professionals to engage in meaningful discussions about cutting-edge practices in orthodontic treatment.
Smartee's presence in Germany has been steadily growing, having established a local subsidiary over two years ago. However, the summit represents the company’s first major European event focused entirely on their groundbreaking GS technology. Attendees were treated to insightful presentations from leading figures in the orthodontic field. Professor Gang Shen, Smartee's Chief Scientist, led two engaging sessions that delved into the biological mechanisms behind their Mandibular Advancement Repositioning Technology (MART) and clinical management protocols for the S8-SGTB system.
Renowned orthodontic expert Matthias Peper, President of the TPAO Congress, shared his clinical experiences with Smartee’s mandibular repositioning system. His insights included case selection criteria, treatment workflow, and preliminary results—key considerations for orthodontists looking to implement new technologies effectively. Additionally, Dr. Werner Schupp, Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics, presented on the integration of individualized jaw movement data in digital planning, enhancing treatment predictability right from the start.
The day concluded with Professor Shen reviewing complex adult cases treated with GS technology, followed by the awarding of GS Smartee course certificates to the attending clinicians, solidifying the educational aims of the summit.
Following the GS Summit, Smartee participated in the TPAO Congress from November 28-29, one of Europe’s most prestigious platforms for orthodontic treatment and interdisciplinary learning. The company connected with over 1,300 orthodontists and dental technicians, showcasing its wide range of clear aligners for both children and adults. The exhibit featured an impressive array of products, alongside new packaging inspired by Disney's Iron Man, captivating the interest of attendees.
Professor Gang Shen delivered an invited lecture during the congress entitled ‘Mandibular Repositioning Therapy GS: Fundamental Mechanisms, Therapeutic Procedures, and Clinical Efficacy.’ His important insights demonstrated why GS therapy is a clinically relevant and biologically based solution for mandibular repositioning in adults, reinforcing its increasing significance within the European orthodontic community.
Smartee’s dedication to the orthodontic landscape in Europe is underscored by these events. Rather than merely entering a new market, the company has deepened its established presence, showcasing a growing interest in functional orthodontics powered by GS technology. By investing in digital innovation, clinician training, and international academic exchanges, Smartee is poised to expand the clinical influence of GS technology across Europe and beyond.
The GS Summit and TPAO Congress exemplify Smartee’s unwavering commitment to advancing orthodontic treatment through collaboration, education, and innovative technology, setting a promising precedent for future engagements in the region.
