Stripe Supports New Purchasing Experience Inside Microsoft Copilot's AI Framework

Stripe Revolutionizes Purchases within Microsoft Copilot

In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, Stripe has made a significant announcement that enhances the purchasing experience for users of Microsoft Copilot, its AI-driven assistant. This collaboration allows users to engage in direct purchases from various retailers, including renowned marketplaces such as Etsy, Urban Outfitters, and Anthropologie, all while remaining within the chat interface.

A Seamless Checkout Experience

The integration of Stripe's checkout functionality transforms the way users interact with commerce. When a conversation about product purchases arises within Copilot, users will see Stripe's checkout screen pop up directly in the chat. This streamlined process ensures that customers are not diverted away from their conversation while shopping.

Microsoft Copilot then seamlessly connects with Stripe, allowing the transaction to proceed efficiently. Once the checkout interface appears, users can enter their payment details. Stripe utilizes an innovative system called the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), facilitating direct connections between the buyer and the seller without compromising the buyer’s sensitive information.

After the customer submits their payment information, Stripe generates a unique Shared Payment Token (SPT), enabling applications like Copilot to initiate payments without offloading sensitive data. This token is then transmitted through API to the seller's backend, maintaining the security and integrity of financial transactions.

Sellers have the choice to process the transaction either through Stripe or other payment providers while still benefiting from Stripe's robust fraud prevention risk score.
