CATL Unveils Largest Post-Sale Energy Service Center in Riyadh

On January 10, 2026, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) opened the largest post-sale service center for new energy resources in Riyadh, which is currently the largest facility of its kind outside of China. This center is a significant step for CATL in strengthening its after-sales presence in the Middle East, aligning with regional efforts towards cleaner energy solutions.

A Strategic Initiative

The introduction of the NING SERVICE center in Riyadh comes at a crucial time as Saudi Arabia and the Middle East pursue ambitious electrification and decarbonization goals as outlined in Vision 2030 and related initiatives. Specifically, Riyadh aims to convert 30% of its vehicles to electric power by 2030, aiming for a 50% reduction in emissions in the capital. Additionally, sustainable policy measures are encouraging the shift to electrically powered equipment, such as electric forklifts, while promoting green energy utilization on farms through the Saudi Green Initiative. However, the region's progress faces challenges like a continued dependence on oil, rising electricity demand, extreme climatic conditions, and limited charging and servicing infrastructure.

Comprehensive After-Sales Support

Strategically located to tackle these challenges, the Riyadh facility offers comprehensive support throughout the lifecycle of its services. The center spans over 7,000 square meters, housing exhibition areas, diagnostic and maintenance zones, restoration facilities, training rooms, and customer lounges. Its mission extends beyond being a localized service center; it serves as a demonstrative platform for CATL’s capabilities in electric mobility, energy storage, and smart electrification while fostering a diverse ecosystem that promotes industrial synergy.

The NING SERVICE center leverages CATL's extensive R&D and robust manufacturing capabilities to provide a complete suite of after-sales services, which includes diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, recycling, and battery logistics. This service covers over seven major product categories—from passenger and commercial vehicles to energy storage systems—setting a new benchmark for new energy services across the region.

Driving Local Expertise and Capacity

This center is not only vital for localized operations but also plays a key role in nurturing local talents and long-term value creation. Through specialized training centers, CATL creates after-sales and technical expertise in the new energy sector, promoting skilled employment and knowledge transfer throughout the Middle East. Globally, the NING SERVICE center manages ten training centers covering a total area of 2,300 square meters and has certified over 9,700 after-sales professionals in partnership with vocational institutions.

Besides talent development, CATL is deepening its localization strategy by enhancing local infrastructure and forging partnerships within the ecosystem. Engaging with leading regional industry players, including fuel network operators, the company aims to rapidly provide green electricity solutions for charging stations and large infrastructure firms to electrify their fleets. Furthermore, collaborations with energy companies target the deployment of solar energy storage solutions.

Supporting Saudi Arabia's Vision

Ahmed Ibrahim, Assistant General Manager of Purchasing at Al Drees, a leading provider of oil and logistics services in Saudi Arabia, acknowledged the transformative energy opportunities in the region. He spoke about implementing solar energy storage solutions at their fueling stations and electrifying forklifts as a means to reduce oil dependence. Collaboration with key players like CATL is an essential strategy for advancing this transition.

Lin Chaofan, CEO of F4S, emphasized that the launch of CATL's flagship after-sale service center in Riyadh underscores their mutual commitment to the global energy transition, reflecting the growing demand for sustainable solutions in Saudi Arabia.

CATL’s Global Service Network

The opening of the Riyadh center complements CATL’s global service presence, which includes over 1,200 professional service stations across 76 countries and 73 spare parts warehouses worldwide. CATL leads the global market in spare parts, boasting 100% original components and warehouse coverage exceeding 370,000 square meters. The NING SERVICE center has assisted in servicing over six million electric vehicles, providing professional support for passenger and commercial vehicles, and energy storage clients.

Commitment to Sustainable Growth

Bruce Li, President of Quality Management Systems at CATL, stated that the Riyadh center reflects a long-term commitment to the region. This first NING SERVICE center in the Middle East is seen not just as a service hub but as a new ecosystem center for energy after-sales service, integrating advanced technologies, professional training, and industry collaboration to ensure deeper synergy and sustainable growth in the vicinity. CATL is poised to expand its after-sales network throughout the Middle East, closely aligning with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiatives and facilitating the region's energy transition through reliable, comprehensive service systems.

As the Middle East accelerates its shift towards electrification and energy storage implementation, the expanded presence of NING SERVICE centers is aptly positioned to ensure the technical reliability and sustainable partnerships necessary for such transformations.
