Major Upcoming Charity Events to Support Disaster Relief

As Japan continues to face increasing natural disasters, the Nippon Pro Baseball Players' Association, spearheaded by its President Tsubasa Aizawa of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, is launching the 'Selection Fund' in collaboration with Civic Force. This initiative aims to foster a community-centered approach to disaster preparedness among all citizens.

About the Selection Fund

The Selection Fund was established in December 2021 in response to a growing necessity for proactive disaster support and awareness. The idea is to inform and inspire individuals to take responsibility for their safety and the safety of their loved ones through self-help and mutual assistance. The fund plays a vital role during crises by providing assistance in the emergency response, recovery, and rebuilding phases after disasters occur.

Upcoming Charity Auction

From December 8, 2025, the Selection Fund will open a charity auction featuring signed memorabilia from players of all 12 Japanese professional baseball teams. The sale will last until December 14, providing fans and supporters an opportunity to own unique items while contributing to an essential cause. Notable auction items include signed bats, baseball gear, and other collectibles, with a total of 89 exclusive offerings. The auction will feature multiple rounds:

- Round 1: December 8, 2025 - December 14, 2025
- Round 2: December 15, 2025 - December 21, 2025
- Round 3: January 19, 2026 - January 25, 2026
- Round 4: January 26, 2026 - February 1, 2026

The auction's goal is to engage the fan base and raise significant funds for disaster preparedness efforts.

Crowdfunding Initiative

In addition to the auction, the Selection Fund will launch a crowdfunding campaign titled 'Connecting the Future of Baseball 2025-2026' on December 8, 2025. This initiative will run until January 30, 2026, aiming to raise 2 million yen. Supporters can receive exclusive perks such as signed T-shirts from players across all twelve teams, a limited edition Yu-ball, and other exciting returns. Special add-on dates for additional rewards include December 17, December 24, January 14, and January 21.

Fund Utilization

The proceeds from both the auction and crowdfunding efforts will provide critical support for the Japan Pro Baseball Players' Association Disaster Relief Fund. This fund will be directed towards immediate needs during disasters, including initial field surveys, as well as supporting Civic Force's emergency response activities, recovery, rebuilding efforts, and long-term disaster prevention activities.
