Importance of Logistics Real Estate in Modern Economy
On December 22, 2025, approximately 110 students at Sophia University participated in a pivotal lecture titled "Logistics Real Estate Environments Supporting Supply Chains" as part of a collaborative program focusing on international information literacy. The event was organized by CRIE Co., Ltd. under the leadership of President and COO Tadasuke Kameyama.
This lecture marked the 11th installment of the collaborative course entitled "Intelligence as Cultural Literacy — Challenges and Methods of International Information Literacy". The program aims to equip students with essential analytical skills required to decode and leverage information strategically in today's data-driven society. Co-facilitated by professors Hiroshi Otonashi and Ruri Abe, the lecture included a broad overview of the increasing significance of logistics, especially within the expanding e-commerce market.
As consumers’ lifestyles evolve, so do the demands for efficient logistics solutions. The lecture highlighted the often-overlooked role of logistics real estate, working to engrain an understanding of its critical importance in consumers' daily lives and the interconnectedness between changing consumer habits and the logistics landscape. Furthermore, it elaborated on how warehouses and logistics facilities are adapting to meet emerging consumer needs and the challenges that businesses face in the future.
The diverse student body, representing various years and departments, actively engaged in the lecture, underscoring the interdisciplinary relevance of logistics in the contemporary market. This course ventures into the historical development of information society and intelligence, exploring its contemporary implications through case studies across media communication, diplomacy, management, and education.
Students gain core skills needed for strategic analysis and the effective use of information in modern society.
