Cytonics Corporation Raises $4.8 Million to Propel A2M Therapy Development
Cytonics Corporation Secures $4.8 Million in Financing
Cytonics Corporation, a clinical-stage biotechnology firm known for its innovative A2M-based therapies, has achieved a significant milestone by completing a financing campaign that raised $4.8 million. With this initiative, approximately 1,500 investors, including about 900 new backers, have now joined Cytonics' growing community of shareholders, expanding the company's investor base to around 8,000 participants. This marks a notable increase in investor confidence, as 35% of the existing shareholders chose to reinvest during this latest funding round.
The recent financing will be allocated towards the advancement of CYT-108, an investigational engineered alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M) biologic designed to combat cartilage degradation, a key issue in osteoarthritis and other protease-driven diseases. Cytonics has successfully completed a Phase 1 study involving human subjects and is currently preparing for the next stages of development, which include regulatory processes and clinical planning for a Phase 1b/2a study focusing on knee osteoarthritis.
According to Joey Bose, the President and CEO of Cytonics, this funding is a testament to the crucial nature of their scientific endeavors.
