Capture Special Family Moments with Messy Play
On
November 29, 2025, an exciting event combining messy play and family photography will take place in Shibuya. This innovative event invites families to celebrate and document special moments together through creative and playful activities. It's a perfect opportunity for families to capture their essence in a fun and vibrant setting.
What is Messy Play?
Messy play is an interactive experience focused on engaging children through sensory activities that stimulate both mind and body. The mission of this event is to create joyful experiences that encourage creativity and emotional bonding among family members. Participants will not only have a blast playing, but will also feel the warmth and connection that comes with shared experiences.
The motto for this event is to foster learning through play, and organizations like
Ball School Shibuya are leading the way in providing enriching activities beyond traditional sports, incorporating art into the mix.
Event Highlights
Theme: Rolling Fun
The seventh edition of this event centers around the theme of
“ rolling”. Families will engage in a series of vibrant activities that explore what rolls, how colors interact in motion, and the excitement of getting messy! This interactive play will create a lively atmosphere where kids and adults alike can enjoy the sheer joy of being creative.
Family Photo Sessions
Throughout the event, professional photographers will capture moments of families playing together, allowing every participant to remember the day. Families will be photographed before and after the messy play session, offering both clean and playful versions of family portraits. These photos are not just for keepsakes but are also perfect for creating unique New Year’s cards!
The photo sessions will take place against a bright white background, and participants are encouraged to wear matching white T-shirts to coordinate their look.

The event is guided by
Naho Ogasawara, a certified instructor in messy play who brings a wealth of experience as a former kindergarten teacher and childcare professional. She passionately believes in the value of play in childhood development—all while being a devoted mother of a 4-year-old girl herself.
