Discover the Canon Museum Campus Event
On September 3rd, 2026, university students are invited to enjoy a free admission day at the Canon Museum Campus, part of the highly anticipated exhibition,
Marie Antoinette Style, hosted at the Yokohama Art Museum. This special initiative, sponsored by Canon, aims to introduce the joys of art appreciation to younger generations and foster their connection to culture.
Event Highlights
The Canon Museum Campus event, now in its 12th year, takes advantage of the museum's regular closing day to provide an exclusive opportunity for students to explore artistic masterpieces without any charge.
The exhibition
Marie Antoinette Style will showcase an array of fashions, jewelry, and furnishings reflective of the iconic queen. Regarded as a pivotal figure in fashion history, Marie Antoinette continues to captivate the imagination of art lovers worldwide. The show is a collaboration with the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London and is uniquely curated for Japan, featuring only here.
Among the highlights are artifacts linked directly to Marie Antoinette such as diamonds associated with the notorious
Necklace Affair, along with other essential historical and literary pieces, many of which will be on display in Japan for the first time.
In a special twist, the exhibition features a restructured version of items displayed during the British exhibition, enhanced with around 20 additional related pieces from Japan, resulting in a uniquely local showcase.
