CIBONE Holiday Gift Wrapping Art Contest 2026

CIBONE, a renowned lifestyle editorial store, is thrilled to launch its annual Holiday Gift Wrapping Art Contest 2026. This exciting event welcomes entries from artists and designers of all backgrounds, both amateur and professional, to create unique gift wrapping designs for the upcoming holiday season. Now in its fourth year, the contest has enjoyed increased participation each time, with last year witnessing a record-breaking total of 361 submissions.

This year’s compelling theme is “Conveying Feelings.” The selected designs will undergo art direction by CIBONE's talented design team and will be showcased during the holiday season from late November to December 25, 2026, at CIBONE in Omotesando, CIBONE CASE in Ginza, and online.

The concept behind the contest revolves around the idea that a single piece of artwork can encapsulate emotions intended for the many gifts it will adorn. This initiative creates a unique opportunity for artwork to engage with the community at large, inviting a wide range of submissions from everyone irrespective of their artistic background. The overarching theme, “Conveying Feelings,” encourages participants to explore their interpretation of gift-giving.

When imagining gifts for someone special, it’s not just about the items themselves, but also the sentiments and connections behind them. It could be anything from the affection embedded in a handwritten letter, the warmth of sharing a meal before the exchange, to the significance of beautifully arranged flowers accompanying the presents. Every choice made reflects the emotions intended for the recipient, enveloped in the tender anticipation leading up to a special day.

CIBONE encourages participants to express their vision freely regarding the theme. Artwork submitted will provide a clearer glimpse into the various perspectives and expressions of emotions through holiday gift wrapping.

Highlights from the Previous Competition

In 2025, amidst 361 entries, the winning piece was created by the talented embroiderer, L. Her artwork titled “Nature” was remarkable, depicting a fleeting moment of someone’s everyday life in the city during winter. This delicate embroidery captures heartwarming colors and a soft texture that evoke the warmth typical of the holiday season, beautifully wrapped around numerous gifts for customers.

Artist's Reflection:

“I sewed a moment of winter. I noticed two people once, somewhere, sharing a simple yet beautiful instant of life. I do not know their age, nationality, or gender. I only felt warmth. Even alone in the winter streets, I could feel love surrounding me, and I wish for happiness to prevail throughout the world.”

Important Details & Submission Process

Artists interested in participating can submit their designs between June 19, 2026, to August 16, 2026. Applicants will find comprehensive details about eligibility, data formats, and submission methods on the dedicated contest webpage.

Announcement & Exhibition: Winners will be notified during the week of August 31, 2026. The winning designs will be publicly showcased on the CIBONE official website in early November 2026.
