Celebrating 20 Years of Solaseed Air: A Special Tribute and Community Connection

On August 1, 2025, Solaseed Air, headquartered in Miyazaki, Japan, celebrated the milestone of 20 years since the launch of its Nagasaki to Tokyo (Haneda) route, originally established in 2005. To express its gratitude to its customers, the airline organized a gift distribution event at both Nagasaki and Haneda airports. Passengers were treated to local specialties including the famous Nagasaki sweet 'Mafaal' and original aviation safety charms crafted from Hasami porcelain.

The day was not only about gifts but also about gratitude and community engagement. A special event called the 'Gathering of Thanks' was held at the buffet restaurant 'Midouya,' managed by Takayama Co., a ceramic kiln featured in the airline's in-flight magazine, 'Soratané.' This gathering aimed to thank local stakeholders and embody Solaseed Air's commitment to creating connections with the community. Approximately 50 local dignitaries attended, reflecting the airline's deep ties with its operational area consisting of cities like Omura, Minami Shimabara, Hasami, and Goto.

In a statement, Solaseed Air's President, Masahiro Yamaki, expressed profound gratitude for the supportive customers and stakeholders. "We celebrate this 20th anniversary as a testament to the valuable partnerships we have cultivated over the years, particularly through our 'Kuko Koi' local promotion project that fosters regional development through our flights," he said.

The airline has initiated numerous promotional events over the years, such as 'Solaseed Marche' at Nagasaki Airport and the 'Green Sky Festival' in Futakotamagawa, Tokyo, featuring the sale of local products and PR initiatives to promote tourism and residency in Nagasaki. As the airline continues its journey as 'the wings of Kyushu and Okinawa,' it is committed to pursuing further growth alongside the local communities it serves.

Special Gifts Distributed on the Day:
Passengers traveling on the Solaseed Air Nagasaki-Tokyo route were presented with:
  • - Tourism brochures from partnering municipalities (Omura, Minami Shimabara, Hasami, Goto)
  • - An original Hasami porcelain safety charm from Kanaya Shrine, Hasami Town
  • - Nagasaki sweet 'Mafaal' packaged with Solaseed Air branding
  • - A pack of Solaseed soup
  • - Souvenirs from the Solaseed Smile Club including an original ballpoint pen and sticker

For the passengers of flight 36, a special commemorative badge and sticker set celebrating the 50th anniversary of Nagasaki Airport was distributed, while passengers flying from Haneda Airport received discount tickets for 'Tsukimachi Nagasaki Yokocho.'

The original Hasami porcelain charm was specially commissioned by Solaseed Air from Wayan Co. and blessed at Kanaya Shrine. This charm not only symbolizes safety for air travelers but also aims to promote awareness of Hasami's cultural beauty. The charm is crafted in the airline's signature pistachio green, further denoting the collaborative spirit with the community. Recently, staff members from Solaseed Air participated in a prayer ceremony at Kanaya Shrine, reinforcing their deep connection with the local area.
