A Record-Breaking Canton Fair 2025

The 138th Canton Fair, which wrapped up on November 4th, 2025, has marked a pivotal moment in the history of international trade exhibitions. This year's event not only attracted a staggering number of participants but also showcased a diverse array of innovative and sustainable products. With over 310,000 overseas buyers from 223 countries and regions attending, the fair saw a remarkable increase of 7.5% in attendance compared to its predecessor. Notably, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries contributed significantly, with 214,000 attendees, reflecting a 9.4% rise in engagement.

The exhibition registered an impressive intended export transaction amounting to $25.65 billion, indicating a sustained positive trend for international trade. Exhibitors firmly believe that the Canton Fair is an exceptional platform for establishing long-term partnerships, pursuing new business ventures, and penetrating fresh markets. Many attendees visited local factories, further enhancing the likelihood of solidifying future deals.

This year's event was distinguished by the emphasis on technology, environment, and innovation. The exhibitor's focus on smart and environmentally friendly products was evident, with new and sustainable items representing 23.3% of the exhibitor's offerings. Innovations included advanced materials and techniques in manufacturing that aligned with eco-friendly practices. Highlighted among the breathtaking showcases were groundbreaking solutions such as humanoid robots, brain-computer interfaces, plastic-free home furnishings, bio-based materials, and AI-assisted rehabilitation devices. Moreover, a notable emphasis on 3D printing technology demonstrated the fair’s alignment with future trends and consumer demands.

Digital Integration and Enhanced Experience

This year's fair took a significant leap towards digital integration. The introduction of smart technologies improved several aspects of the event, including attendee navigation, badge registration, and business discussions. For the first time, a QR code badge system allowed participants to register within 30 seconds, a drastic improvement from previous methods. Additional advancements in navigation included booth-level smart navigation powered by Bluetooth, 5G, and BDS technology. Tools such as AI guides provided attendees with single-touch navigation and comprehensive information, an innovation that was utilized over 477,000 times.

The Canton Fair’s dedicated app also saw a rise in utility, with an additional 415,000 downloads during the event, highlighting its significance as a resource for exhibitors and visitors alike.
