Bulat Utemuratov Foundation's Autism Program Achieves AmCham Healthcare Award

Bulat Utemuratov Foundation's Autism Program Triumphs at AmCham Awards

On November 21, 2025, the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation’s notable initiative, "Autism: One World for All," received an esteemed Healthcare Award from the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan (AmCham). This accolade recognizes the program's transformative impact on supporting autism and fostering inclusion across the nation.

The award ceremony took place in Astana, where winners were chosen by an independent assessment panel, highlighting the Foundation's commitment to advancing autism awareness, early diagnosis, and specialist training. Since its inception in 2015, the program has established 13 Asyl Miras autism centers in 12 cities within Kazakhstan, offering complimentary services led by a team of psychologists, speech therapists, and behavioral analysts. They deploy internationally recognized evidence-based methodologies including ABA therapy and the Early Childhood Intervention Model.

Over the past decade, the program has significantly contributed to the lives of over 17,000 children and their families, equipping more than 300 specialists to deliver world-class interventions. Beyond the direct support provided, the initiative has been crucial in raising public consciousness about autism and promoting a culture of inclusivity throughout Kazakhstan.

One of the noteworthy projects within the program, titled "Autism Friendly," has trained personnel at key locations including airports in Almaty and Kyzylorda and staff from Air Astana. This training aims to create more accommodating environments for individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

Almaz Sharman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, expressed his gratitude, stating, "This award signifies that the issue of inclusion is gaining traction in society. When we initiated the Autism: One World for All program, we aimed to help children with ASD unlock their potential and integrate into a world that embraces and supports them. Today, we witness substantial changes; thousands of families have found assistance, and society is evolving to be more open and understanding. This drives us to continue our mission."

This recent recognition marks the second consecutive year the foundation has earned accolades from AmCham. In 2024, they were celebrated for their extensive community service and contribution to Kazakhstan’s social development.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan serves as a platform for prominent international and domestic companies, advocating for a competitive and transparent business environment through effective collaboration and policy dialogue with the government.

The ongoing efforts of the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation are not just about improving the lives of children with autism but also about cultivating a more inclusive society where every individual’s potential can flourish. As they progress forward, the foundation remains steadfast in its mission to ensure that every child diagnosed with autism has access to the resources and opportunities necessary for a brighter future.
