Launching the Yomiuri KoDoMo Wampa Bus

Yomiuri Travel, under the leadership of President Hidenori Iwakami, has announced the official start of its children’s travel brand, KoDoMo Wampa Club, with the unveiling of a specially designed bus named the 'Wampa Bus.' This initiative, marked by the tagline 'Experiences that can only happen through travel create future possibilities,' aims to open doors to excitement and foster learning, play, and discovery for children.

Wampa Bus Launch Ceremony

The launch ceremony took place before a three-day overnight excursion for elementary school children in Shizuoka’s Nishi-Izu area. The event was held at the Marunouchi Kajibashi parking lot where two representatives from the participating children were joined by one representative each from Yomiuri Travel and the bus company for a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony. Smiling brightly, 42 children boarded the Wampa Bus, embarking on their adventure.

Moving forward, the Wampa Bus will not only service the KoDoMo Wampa Club tours but will also be included in travel packages organized by Yomiuri Travel departing from Tokyo.

What is the Yomiuri KoDoMo Wampa Club?

The KoDoMo Wampa Club targets elementary school students, specifically those in grades 2 through 6, offering a unique travel program designed just for kids. The program is committed to encouraging children to share experiences with their peers while promoting independence. In addition to travel, it includes a diverse range of activities aimed at fostering children’s growth, such as group activities and nature experiences.

Staff supporting the adventurous journeys of the children mainly consist of Yomiuri Travel employees, alongside experienced tour conductors who ensure a secure environment during the trips. They are not only skilled in providing support but also certified in life-saving and emergency techniques, prioritizing the safety and comfort of the young travelers.
