ENA Foundation Welcomes 2025 Board of Trustees
The Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) has made an important announcement regarding its leadership for the year 2025. Christine Russe, an accomplished emergency nurse from Texas, is set to take on the role of Chairperson of the ENA Foundation. With a rich career in emergency nursing, Russe expresses her enthusiasm for the opportunity to guide and mentor her peers in the emergency nursing field.
Russe views emergency nursing not just as a profession, but as a calling. She emphasizes her commitment to giving back to the community as she embarks on her new leadership journey. "I am deeply honored to lead the ENA Foundation in 2025 and help improve the lives of emergency nurses through our funding initiatives," she stated. Her unwavering belief in the mission of the ENA Foundation drives her actions as she aspires to make significant advancements, particularly in education and research.
The ENA Foundation has a distinguished history of supporting emergency nurses. Founded in 1991, this 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization has been dedicated to providing educational scholarships and research grants aimed at enhancing the specialty of emergency nursing. In the previous year alone, the Foundation awarded over $584,000 to 246 nurses, demonstrating its pivotal role in nurturing the emergency nursing community. This included 36 emergency relief grants for nurses facing personal hardships or recovering from natural disasters.
The ongoing scholarship and grant application cycle for 2025 commenced on January 23 and will run through February 14. Applications are currently being accepted for the upcoming class of Emergency Nursing Diverse Voices Research fellows, as well as for global members seeking scholarships to attend the Emergency Nursing 2025 conference scheduled in New Orleans. Future grant opportunities will also be available in the spring, enhancing the resources available to emergency nurses.

Ryan Oglesby, the current ENA President, is also an influential figure in shaping the future of emergency nursing, bringing his extensive experience in advocacy and leadership to the organization.
The ENA continues to be an invaluable resource for nearly 45,000 members worldwide, who rely on its advocacy for patient safety, development of industry standards, and guidance on public policy regarding emergency healthcare.
