Niconico Chokaigi 2025: An Unmissable Celebration of Creativity and Entertainment

As Japan's beloved digital entertainment event, the Niconico Chokaigi is set to celebrate its 14th year with the much-anticipated Niconico Chokaigi 2025, scheduled to take place on April 26-27, 2025, at the Makuhari Messe. This year's event promises an elaborated lineup of over 750 performers, including renowned artists such as AKINO with bless4 and the popular music group SutoPuri's member, Gel.

A Fusion of Traditional and Modern Entertainment

One of the highlights of this year’s event will be the grand Super Niconico Bon Odori, where participants can enjoy the popular summer festival dance in a unique setting. A massive ‘Super Neo Yagura’ will be erected right at the heart of the venue, blending the digital world with reality. This impressive structure will display live-streamed comments from online users on vibrant digital screens, mimicking the lively neon streets of Tokyo.

Underneath the Yagura, attendees can enjoy live performances by celebrated artists, including the legendary Sachiko Kobayashi and AKINO with bless4, creating an energetic atmosphere where attendees can join in on the Bon Odori dance. The music selection will span popular Vocaloid songs, anime tracks, and various genres that have seen immense popularity on Nico Nico.

Expert Choreography

The choreography for the Bon Odori will be supervised by Ukon Takafuji, a celebrated figure known for blending traditional Japanese dance techniques with contemporary music. With a rich history of supervising dance for various events, including international subculture gatherings and local festivals, Takafuji's involvement signifies a fresh and engaging experience for both new and longtime fans.

The event will also feature the Super Dance Live 2025 that will take place across both days. Notably, Gel from SutoPuri will host a special event titled Gel’s Arrival! where participants will dance to the opening theme of the short anime series Tori-san.
