EF Education First to Offer Free English Lessons
In a bid to support language learning, EF Education First (EF) will commence
free in-person English classes starting July 11, 2026, at their Tokyo headquarters in Shibuya. Known for its global education initiatives across 114 countries, EF aims to provide a tangible starting point for those interested in improving their English skills.
The Need for Language Learning Assistance
Recent studies reveal a staggering
40% of working adults show interest in reskilling their language abilities but haven’t taken the plunge. The main reasons cited are difficulties in allocating time for learning (32.2%) and uncertainties around how to start (many feel overwhelmed by the options available).
Similarly, college students face obstacles, with
21.2% reporting they are eager to study abroad but consider it realistically challenging. This indicates a significant gap between interest in international experiences and the actionable steps towards achieving them.
Bridging the Gap: Free Face-to-Face English Lessons
Recognizing these hurdles, EF's initiative to offer
free face-to-face English lessons comes as a welcome opportunity. Starting at a specified location and time reduces the burden of decision-making associated with starting a new learning journey. This structured approach aims to streamline the transition from interest to action, enabling participants to engage with the language in a supportive environment.
Through these lessons, EF hopes to facilitate meaningful interactions, allowing individuals to experience the joy of language learning that has been at the core of EF's philosophy since its foundation.
