Pinnacle Solutions Partners with U.S. Marine Corps for Advanced Vehicle Training Systems
Pinnacle Solutions and U.S. Marine Corps Contract
In a significant achievement for defense contractor Pinnacle Solutions, the company announced on April 21, 2026, that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Marine Corps to provide advanced Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) maintenance training systems. This contract, valued at $24 million, falls under a framework called Other Transactional Authority (OTA) and allows for a performance period of 30 months if all contract options are exercised.
Advancements in Marine Training
The role of technology in military training is increasingly vital, and this contract reflects the Marine Corps' commitment to integrating modern solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations. Pinnacle Solutions is set to transform how maintenance personnel are trained within this essential vehicle category by replacing traditional classroom instruction with immersive training experiences utilizing virtual reality and simulation technologies.
The need for ongoing technical proficiency among Marine Corps technicians has never been greater, and Pinnacle's innovative approach is designed to accelerate learning and readiness. The training systems being developed will include a variety of tools designed for different training scenarios, enabling technicians to gain hands-on experience that closely mirrors actual maintenance tasks.
Training Systems Overview
Pinnacle's contract will produce three specific training systems to enhance the readiness of ACV maintenance units. Each system will serve a unique purpose:
1. Electronic Classroom: This upgrade will enhance the existing infrastructure at the Assault Amphibian School, allowing for a virtual reality training environment led by instructors.
2. Diagnostic Task Trainer: This system will allow hands-on training in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing ACV systems and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).
3. Part Task Trainer: Designed for entry-level technicians, this system will offer the opportunity to practice the installation and removal of ACV power packs and suspension components, along with the creation of an egress trainer to simulate real-life scenarios.
According to Scott Rauer, President of Akima’s Facilities Solutions Group, this award underscores the company’s commitment to delivering high-tech training solutions that empower Marines for their missions. He emphasized the importance of leveraging technical expertise to create effective training systems.
Future Developments
The development phase for these training systems will take place in Huntsville, Alabama, with delivery set to occur at multiple locations, including Camp Pendleton in California and Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. The systems will be utilized across various ACV maintenance units, ensuring that Marines stationed in diverse geographical locations, including Japan and Florida, will have access to advanced training facilities.
This partnership marks a significant milestone for Pinnacle Solutions, which operates under Akima, a company known for delivering mission-operating solutions to various branches of the U.S. government. With over 11,000 employees, Akima is focused on providing advanced training solutions, information technology, and logistics across multiple sectors.
