Japan Benex Launches New Solar Power Plant in Kobe, Expanding Renewable Energy Capacity

Japan Benex Expands Solar Energy Capacity in Kobe

Japan Benex Co., Ltd., based in Nagasaki, has made significant strides in renewable energy by launching the "Benex Kobe Solar Port," a solar power facility located on the roof of a logistics center in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. This facility has a capacity of approximately 0.7MW and is part of Japan Benex's strategic initiative to utilize the Feed-in Tariff (FIP) system for generating renewable energy. With the addition of this new facility, the total capacity of Japan Benex's solar power plants utilizing the FIP system surpasses 50MW, marking an important milestone for the company.

The Benex Kobe Solar Port consists of 1,248 solar modules that were installed in collaboration with Cushman & Wakefield Asset Management Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the global real estate service company, Cushman & Wakefield. The implementation of this project reflects the company’s commitment to advancing sustainability in the logistics sector.

The anticipated annual output of the Benex Kobe Solar Port is around 890,000 kWh, which is equivalent to the energy consumption of approximately 296 average households in Japan. This output will significantly contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and promoting renewable energy in the region.
