Kantar Japan Shines at the Nikkei Karaoke Championship
Kantar Japan, a prominent subsidiary of the global marketing data and analytics firm Kantar, proudly announces its achievement of securing second place at the Nikkei Corporate Karaoke Championship held on September 20. This festive event, organized by the Nikkei newspaper and supported by DAM, took place amidst fierce competition with over 100 companies vying for victory.
The final competition narrowed down from a vast pool of over 100 applicants, culminating in performances by the top 10 teams that showcased a spectacular display of talents and individual flair. Kantar Japan, supported by the enthusiastic cheers of its colleagues and supporters, delivered a memorable performance that undoubtedly contributed to their impressive ranking.
In a statement following the event, Kantar Japan’s Managing Director, Tohru Sasaki, expressed his gratitude: “I extend my sincere appreciation to all employees who participated in this event, as well as to everyone who supported us, including the organizers and sponsors. Thank you very much.”
A Celebration of Team Spirit and Adaptability
This karaoke championship not only served as an exciting competition but also highlighted the adaptability required in today’s rapidly changing environment, driven by technological innovations such as AI. Sasaki emphasized that companies must remain agile and responsive amid global uncertainties and economic fluctuations. He remarked that to foster growth, businesses need both flexible individuals and resilient teams capable of adapting to change.
“While it may not have been apparent, the rise of office work in recent years is aimed at stimulating growth through face-to-face interactions, rather than merely an obligation to be present in the office,” Sasaki noted. “Organizations possess a collective force far surpassing individual capabilities; they can produce unexpected outcomes and exhibit resilience.”
This event exemplified how a focused team effort can lead to unforeseen results. Despite being a team not primarily known for their singing abilities, Kantar Japan managed to clinch second place through a remarkable demonstration of group synergy.
