As remote participation becomes more common, the findings show that almost 90% of Americans are open to the idea of engaging in fully remote clinical trials. Retention Challenges


Retention remains a challenge, with 68% of participants identifying physical discomfort as the primary reason for leaving a clinical trial. This was closely followed by unclear expectations (51%) and struggles with technology usage, even with support (47%). The data suggests that a keen focus on user experience is imperative for maintaining participant involvement.

Time Commitment Considerations


Time investment also plays a crucial role in decision-making regarding trial participation. A striking 57% of respondents indicated they would only commit to trials lasting three months or fewer, while 26% expressed reluctance to join any trial exceeding three weeks. Such insights are vital for sponsors aiming to tailor their approaches and restrict unwanted drop-out rates effectively.
