Update Your Drone Qualification with Akihabara Drone School
The Akihabara Drone School, operated by Tanaka Denki Co., Ltd., has officially opened registration for its national qualification renewal course for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators. The sessions will commence on
October 17. If you hold a UAV operating license, it's essential to stay informed about its validity and ensure timely renewal to maintain your qualifications.
Important Information on Qualification Validity
The validity period for the UAV operating license is
three years. To renew your qualification, you must complete the
renewal course and submit a renewal application. If you allow your qualification to expire without an application, it will become invalid, leading to more complicated processes for re-obtaining your license.
Timing for Renewal Applications
You can initiate your renewal process
six months prior to the expiry date. However, to ensure your application is processed smoothly, you should have completed your renewal course
three months before submitting your application, effectively making it possible to start the course as early as
nine months before expiration.
If you've received a suspension prior to this renewal, you'll need to attend an additional course that includes practical training designed for those who have faced disciplinary actions.
Akihabara Drone School Features
Located just a
1-minute walk from JR Akihabara Station, the Akihabara Drone School is easily accessible. Additionally, graduates from other schools are welcome to join the renewal sessions, making it an inclusive option for all UAV pilots looking to maintain their credentials.
