Explore the Wonderful World of Trains at the Electric Train Camp!
Get ready for a thrilling journey into the world of trains at the upcoming "Electric Train Camp - Stay Overnight on the Luxurious Hokutosei!" This special camping experience is organized by Plus One Education, a subsidiary of the Riso Education Group, which will take place from November 23 to November 24, 2025.
The Beauty of the Hokutosei
The Hokutosei, a luxurious sleeper train that ran through the Seikan Tunnel, is a dream come true for train enthusiasts, especially for children. Although the train ceased operation in 2015, this camp offers a fantastic opportunity for kids to actually stay overnight in one of its original sleeping cars. Every detail, including dining arrangements in the recreated dining car, is designed to evoke nostalgia and offer an authentic experience. This will surely be a night filled with unforgettable memories for any young railway fanatic!
Exciting Railroad Activities at The Hirosawa City Rail Park
One of the highlights of the camp is a visit to The Hirosawa City Rail Park, which hosts a collection of valuable train models such as the Hokutosei itself, the historic D51 steam locomotive, and the Shinkansen E224-127. Kids will have the chance to explore these magnificent machines up close, take photos, and delve into the history and workings of trains in a fun and engaging way.
Unleash Your Creativity with the 'Train Photography Adventure'
On the way to the camp, participants will engage in a unique activity where they strategize with their peers to create their own “Train Photography Adventure.” This interactive experience allows kids to choose which trains to photograph and build their adventure as they travel. As long as they arrive at their destination by a designated time, they can enjoy unlimited rides on regular trains! This self-organized trip not only fosters planning skills but also promotes teamwork and cooperation among participants.
