The Artistic Journey of vug

Born in 1988, vug began their artistic journey when they received praise for a drawing created at just four years old. Influenced heavily by graffiti during their teenage years, vug's work now reflects a combination of street culture and pop culture. Their artistic style is characterized by an innovative remixing of different genres, leading to a body of work that feels like a diary of daily experiences.

The title of the exhibition, 'PIVOT,' draws inspiration from basketball terminology. In basketball, a pivot refers to the technique of using one foot as a base while moving the other to change direction fluidly, evading defenders. This concept resonates deeply with vug's work, echoing the fluidity and adaptability in both sports and life. In this exhibition, vug presents an installation modeled after a life-size basketball hoop, centered around a new series of drawings known as the 'Basketball Series.'
