Salus Scientific Welcomes Will Martin to Board of Directors, Enhancing Leadership Team

Salus Scientific Strengthens Board with New Appointment

Salus Scientific, a recognized innovator in radiation protection and clinical workflow solutions specifically designed for fluoroscopy-guided environments, has announced a significant addition to its leadership team. The company has appointed Will Martin, a seasoned executive in the medical device industry, to its Board of Directors. This move is seen as a strategic enhancement aimed at furthering the company's mission to advance healthcare technology and improve occupational health standards.

With over 20 years of extensive experience in building and scaling venture-backed healthcare companies, Martin is no stranger to the complexities of the medical device landscape. His previous roles have not only demonstrated his capability in leading successful startups but also showcased his talent for driving global commercialization strategies. Notably, Martin played integral leadership roles in four successful startup exits, a testament to his effectiveness in aligning innovative technologies with market needs.

Before joining Salus Scientific, Martin served as the President and CEO of IRRAS, a pioneering neurosurgery company. During his tenure, he spearheaded the company’s efforts to commercialize groundbreaking solutions for treating elevated intracranial pressure due to conditions such as bleeding and infection. Under his guidance, IRRAS navigated multiple financing rounds and ultimately executed a strategic acquisition by ClearPoint Neuro in 2025.

Reflecting on Martin's appointment, Todd O. Flohr, CEO and Co-Founder of Salus Scientific, remarked, “Will brings a rare combination of operational excellence, strategic vision, and proven execution across the full lifecycle of medical device companies. As we continue to scale Salus and advance technologies like AeroShield and GLiFT, his experience in commercialization and capital strategies will be invaluable.”

Martin’s career also includes significant achievements at Philips Healthcare. As General Manager of the Peripheral Vascular business, he played a critical role in transitioning the company towards interventional therapies, contributing to what became one of Philips' fastest growing divisions, further underscoring his ability to drive growth. His leadership facilitated several major acquisitions, including the landmark $2.2 billion acquisition of Spectranetics.

Additionally, Martin has held leadership positions at innovative firms such as AtheroMed, Hotspur Technologies, and AccessClosure, where he developed captivating commercialization strategies that significantly increased revenue and facilitated the successful launch of numerous products into the market, as well as the scaling of high-performing commercial teams.

“I’m excited to join the Board at Salus Scientific at such an important time in its growth,” stated Martin. “Salus is redefining how we think about occupational health in the interventional suite, and I believe the company is uniquely positioned to lead this category with its focus on innovation, workflow, and clinician well-being.”

Beyond his role at Salus, Martin currently serves as an independent Director for Burl Concepts and Morris Innovative. His background includes service as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, contributing to his disciplined approach to leadership and innovation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
