JA Solar and CEEC Unite for a Major Renewable Energy Project in Africa

On January 14, 2025, during the opening day of the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) held in Abu Dhabi, JA Solar Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a significant procurement agreement with the China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC). The deal, valued at 1.25GW, positions JA Solar as the exclusive supplier of high-efficiency n-type photovoltaic (PV) modules for the ambitious Abydos Phase II, which comprises a 1GW and 600MWh PV-Storage Project. This development aims to become the largest of its kind in Africa and is orchestrated by AMEA Power in collaboration with CEEC.

This output will serve over 500,000 households while also contributing to significant reductions in carbon emissions by offsetting more than 1 million tonnes of CO2 each year.
