What is the TAMRON Photo Contest?
The TAMRON Photo Contest is designed for all photography lovers to enjoy the art of photography. Photographs taken with interchangeable lens cameras are eligible for submission, irrespective of the manufacturer's name or model year. This inclusive competition has two distinct categories:
1.
General Category: Open to a wide range of photographs across all lens categories and genres.
2.
Macro Category: Focused on photographs taken with macro lenses.
Participating in this contest offers a fantastic opportunity for photographers to display their talent, whether they're amateurs or seasoned pros.
Important Dates
The contest runs from
September 8, 2025, to
November 10, 2025. Photographers will have a two-month window to prepare and submit their entries.
Submission Guidelines
The contest welcomes submissions in two categories:
- - General Category: Accepting a broad spectrum of photographs, regardless of genre or lens type.
- - Macro Category: Exclusively for images taken with macro lenses. Please note that works captured using zoom lens macro functions or any single-focus lens not classified as macro are excluded from this category.
Entries must be submitted online, with a limit of
10 photographs per category (up to a total of
20 entries). Both color and black-and-white images are accepted, and digital retouching is allowed, provided that details about the editing are included in the submission form. Each entry must include a single photograph.
Judging Panel
The contest will feature esteemed judges:
- - General Category: Daisuke Kumakiri, a prominent photographer from Tokyo, will preside over this section. After studying photographic expression at Tokyo Polytechnic University, he worked for Nikkan Gendai's photo department, focusing on politics, crime, and the Yomiuri Giants. Currently a freelance photographer, he actively engages in creating and exhibiting works capturing Tokyo through snapshots. He also teaches photography at universities and is the president of the Japan Photographers Association.
- - Macro Category: Reiko Hagiwara, a photographer from Okinawa, will evaluate submissions in this category. After graduating from the Kyoto Institute of Technology's Department of Craft, she journeyed abroad, only to find inspiration in Japan's landscape photography.
