RymanSat Project Launches Mini Satellite RSP-03 to Create Music in Space

RymanSat Project's Exciting Space Mission: RSP-03

On August 21, 2023, Japan's RymanSat Project, led by RymanSat Spaces, will successfully launch its third miniature satellite, RSP-03, affectionately named "Hamorun." This historic event is scheduled for 4:57 PM Japan time (3:57 AM Eastern Time) aboard the SpX-33 resupply mission to the International Space Station (ISS). Once it reaches the ISS, RSP-03 will be deployed into orbit to accomplish its mission of composing music in space.

Mission Overview

The RSP-03, which is a 1U CubeSat measuring 10cm x 10cm, has a unique goal: to transform data collected from the cosmos into musical compositions. By utilizing AI technology to analyze star data and environmental information around the satellite, it will generate music that will be transmitted back to Earth.

Excitingly, the music created by RSP-03 will be made available to the public after it is successfully downlinked, through a dedicated website (https://rsp03.rymansat.com/). This innovative initiative aims to promote accessibility to space exploration, allowing everyone to experience the universe through sound.

The RymanSat Project

Founded by a group of enthusiastic professionals from various fields, the RymanSat Project promotes space development as a hobby. Their underlying philosophy is that space exploration shouldn't be confined to experts; rather, it should be achievable by anyone driven by curiosity. Members of this organization engage in satellite development and outreach activities, often balancing their regular jobs alongside these exciting ventures.

During the satellite's mission, participants will connect with amateur radio communities and showcase the delightful music generated by the satellite, aiming to share the wonders of the universe.

RSP-03 Project Manager Hiroshi expressed heartfelt gratitude saying, “Reflecting on our journey, we faced numerous challenges. Thanks to the support of everyone involved, we made it this far. With the encouragement from my peers and the community, Hamorun is finally going to space. Thank you so much!”

Introducing RSP-03
