Northwest Pipe Company Launches Community Impact Program
In a significant move towards corporate social responsibility, Northwest Pipe Company (Nasdaq: NWPX), renowned for its water-related infrastructure production, has recently inaugurated its Community Impact Program. This initiative is designed to steer the Company’s philanthropic and community engagement endeavors, allowing them to make a tangible difference in their local areas.
The program's launch was marked by a generous donation of $25,000 to the Share Vancouver Backpack Program. This initiative is vital for many families, as it distributes over 1,200 bags of non-perishable food each week, ensuring low-income households have access to nutritious meals over weekends, when school lunches are not available. Additionally, the program prepares specialized 'hotel bags' filled with ready-to-eat meals for families without kitchen access. Presently, Share Vancouver supports 90 schools within the Evergreen and Vancouver School Districts in Washington.
Amy Reynolds, the Executive Director at Share, expressed her gratitude for Northwest Pipe Company's support, stating,
"We are incredibly grateful for their financial contribution to Share's Backpack Program through the Community Impact Program. This generosity ensures children and families can access nutritious meals, alleviating stress for parents managing tight budgets."
The initiative is aligned with the company's commitment to responsible business practices, making it clear that Northwest Pipe is keen on not just leading in the market but also positively impacting communities.
Scott Montross, the President and CEO of Northwest Pipe Company, shared his sentiments, emphasizing the significance of their support to Share Vancouver and the mission to improve the lives of local families. He stated,
"It’s a privilege to support Share Vancouver in making tangible differences for children and families. Food insecurity affects too many families, and our team's commitment to this program reinforces the type of community engagement we aspire to foster within all our locations."
The Community Impact Program is not a one-off event. In 2025, Northwest Pipe plans to extend its reach to all 13 of its manufacturing plants across North America, empowering local teams to promote and engage in charitable initiatives relevant to their communities. This broader scope ensures that the commitment to community welfare is deeply rooted in the company’s operations.
