Miraise Supports Provotive's Entry into the Japanese Market with Strategic Investments

Miraise's Support for Provotive's Market Expansion

Miraise, a venture capital firm headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, has announced its role as a lead investor in the Pre-A round of funding for Provotive Co. Ltd., a startup based in Seoul, South Korea. This funding round not only includes contributions from Miraise but also features backing from Strong Ventures in the U.S. and VNTG in Korea, along with collaboration from Japanese packaging printing companies.

Introduction to Packative

Provotive's main product, Packative, is an AI-driven platform designed for packaging design and order management, catering to both businesses and individuals. With the aim of expanding into the Asian and global markets, Provotive plans to officially launch its services in Japan starting November 2025.
Miraise is committed to maximizing its local market knowledge and networks to ensure Provotive's successful entry. Through strategic partnerships with Japanese packaging printing companies, Miraise aims to create opportunities for capital collaboration that will support Provotive’s Japan expansion efforts comprehensively.

Innovative Solutions with AI

The innovative essence of Packative lies in its ability to mitigate traditional barriers in the packaging order process. Often, minimum lot restrictions, complicated design requirements, and opaque estimation work pose significant challenges, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises. To address these issues, Provotive developed DYP.ai, an AI design tool that enables users to create package designs instantly, regardless of their expertise level. By automating and optimizing the entire workflow—from estimating costs to order processing—Packative facilitates small lot orders and offers real-time pricing, drastically reducing turnaround time. As a result, Provotive has seen rapid growth, establishing a strong foothold in the highly competitive Korean market with over 2,700 clients, including major brands.

Strategic Partnership in Japan

As Provotive prepares for its Japanese market entry, Miraise has mediated a capital partnership with CVC, a local packaging printing business. This alliance will enable Provotive to swiftly localize their product offerings, strengthen their logistics framework, and ensure compliance with various regulations. Additionally, the partnership will bolster recruitment and business collaborations, critical for scaling operations in Japan.

Insights from the Founders

Dominik Danninger, the founder and CEO of Provotive, shared his enthusiasm about the Japanese market: "The Japanese packaging sector demands top-notch quality and is a crucial market for our ambitions. Establishing this partnership with Miraise and a local printing business represents a monumental step for our expansion in Asia. We are motivated to establish new standards for packaging solutions across Japan and Asia as we leverage this strong collaboration."

From an investment perspective, Shinichi Iwata, CEO and Partner at Miraise, expressed confidence in Danninger’s capabilities as an exceptional technology entrepreneur. With over 17 years of IT experience, Danninger has demonstrated remarkable resilience in the competitive landscape, acquiring more than 2,700 clients in just four years. Iwata noted, "Successful entry into the Japanese market requires strategic partnerships. Our thorough experience with multiple foreign companies entering Japan will be crucial as we work towards ensuring Packative's success and global expansion."
