Daito Trust Starts Offering Renewable Energy-Based Carbon Credits for Supply Chains

Daito Trust's Initiative in Carbon Credits

Daito Trust Construction Co., Ltd., headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, has announced a significant move toward sustainability by providing renewable energy-based carbon credits to supply chain companies starting in late November 2025. Utilizing Japan's J-Credit system, which certifies renewable energy based on solar power generation, the company aims to support businesses in their efforts to reduce carbon footprints.

Since 2022, Daito Trust has been converting renewable energy generated from solar panels installed on rental properties into credits, focusing specifically on the self-consumption of energy. With an increasing number of solar installations expected annually, the company anticipates that by 2027, the volume of renewable energy credits issued will surpass the energy consumption of temporary power at construction sites.

The excess renewable energy credits will be offered to companies that Daito Trust procures materials from, enabling these partners to contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions at the scope 3 level. Supply chain entities will benefit from this initiative, as they can acquire renewable energy credits at approximately 80% of market prices, with online ordering options available for convenience.

Daito Trust has set an ambitious goal of installing 15,000 solar power facilities by 2030, aiming to issue approximately 20,000 tons of credits annually. Of this total, over 10,000 tons will be allocated for sale to supply chain companies. This initiative is designed to mutually enhance environmental awareness among partners and promote eco-friendly construction practices.

By strengthening collaborations with supply chain companies across the nation, Daito Trust is poised to accelerate its efforts toward achieving carbon neutrality. The commitment to sustainability is not merely a corporate responsibility, but a proactive approach to ensure that environmental considerations are embedded in the construction industry.

In a world increasingly focused on climate action, Daito Trust’s efforts can serve as a model for other companies looking to contribute positively to environmental preservation. The availability of affordable and certified renewable energy credits may incentivize more businesses to pursue sustainable practices, ultimately leading to a greener future.

Daito Trust continues to pave the way for a sustainable framework that marries development with environmental stewardship. The company’s innovative offerings in the realm of renewable energy credits signal a transformative shift in how construction industries view their impact on the environment—a step toward a collaborative journey where construction and sustainability coexist harmoniously.
