The Midea Building Tech TRUE Conference commenced its fourth edition from July 2 to 3, 2025, in Shanghai, marking a significant milestone in the transition towards a low-carbon and digitally advanced building industry. The conference, themed ‘TRUE Evolution: Smart Building, Green Future’, gathered over 50 influential leaders and experts globally, allowing for a rich exchange of ideas, product launches, and eco-exhibitions while attracting approximately 2,000 partners from the construction ecosystem.
The main forum of the conference highlighted critical discussions regarding the urgent requirements stemming from green and low-carbon developments. Leaders stressed the importance of establishing a new architectural energy system, which is crucial for promoting high-quality energy development. This includes innovative concepts merging green building practices with financial ecosystems to enable sustainable financing solutions. Various practical case studies were presented, showcasing improved energy efficiency strategies and urban decarbonization implementations.
Midea Building Technologies (MBT) showcased five innovative solutions that cater to its core operations, extending across HVAC systems, smart elevators, building automation, and energy management. One of the prominent introductions was the Midea V9 VRF system, tailored to address industry challenges such as cooling efficiency degradation during extreme temperatures and the integration of additional inverters for photovoltaic energy utilization. Moreover, the system combats energy waste caused by uncontrolled air conditioning practices.
In the large-scale chiller segment, Midea leveraged its proprietary ‘MAGLEV+’ technology to achieve significant breakthroughs that enhance refrigeration processes and facilitate industrial energy supply. This transformation signals a shift from merely enhancing single pieces of equipment toward a comprehensive system overhaul, crucial in the energy sector.
Kermi seized the opportunity to unveil its intelligent residential HVAC+E solution, designed to cultivate smarter, more comfortable living environments. Meanwhile, LINVOL introduced its next-generation elevator technology for residential and freight systems, ensuring optimal performance with every trip.
During the event, Peter Guan, Vice President of Midea Group and President of Midea Building Tech, remarked, ‘MBT is committed to becoming our clients' partner in intelligent buildings. We consistently enhance our capabilities in digitization, automated controls, system design, and engineering delivery to meet low-carbon and intelligence requirements.’
The conference stands as a testament to Midea’s dedication to not just innovating in building technology but also proactively contributing to the larger agenda of sustainable development. By connecting various sectors within construction and providing innovative solutions, the TRUE Conference cements its reputation as a pivotal event in the realm of smart buildings.
