OneSchool Global Launches 'Perfect Pitch' Competition
OneSchool Global (OSG) recently announced an exciting new initiative named 'Perfect Pitch', aimed at fostering
entrepreneurship and
innovation among students across North America and beyond. This competition encourages participants to engage their entrepreneurial spirit by designing and presenting their unique business ideas in a global arena. Inspired by the popular TV show 'Shark Tank', students will have the chance to present their business plans and potentially receive startup capital based on their proposals.
Concept and Goals of the Competition
The 'Perfect Pitch' competition is designed to challenge student teams from various OneSchool Global campuses to think creatively and develop comprehensive business plans that address real-world problems. Each team will consist of five students who collaborate to create a business idea that showcases their creativity and innovative thinking. This initiative is not just about competition; it’s about learning how to communicate effectively, problem-solve creatively, and work collaboratively with peers from different cultural backgrounds.
According to Jonathon Borys, OSG’s Regional Director of Education, "Perfect Pitch complements our learning-to-learn framework by empowering students to take control of their educational journey through self-directed study. We encourage them to think outside the box and understand that there are no limits to what they can achieve." The competition also provides a real-world context for students to apply the skills they learn in the classroom.
How the Competition Works
Teams will submit a
business plan that includes a promotional video lasting no more than three minutes, outlining their concept and the funding they seek in exchange for a percentage of their business. The top seven teams will progress to the final round, where they will pitch their ideas live to a panel of industry professionals via Zoom. The finalists will face a Q&A session to test the viability of their proposals.
OneSchool Global is committed to ensuring that the participating students gain not only knowledge but also valuable skills in collaboration and critical thinking, preparing them for future entrepreneurial endeavors.
