Liberty Mutual's Leadership Transition in Global Risk Solutions
Liberty Mutual Insurance has confirmed a significant leadership change within its Global Risk Solutions (GRS) division. The current President, Neeti Bhalla Johnson, is set to depart from her role effective March 6, 2026, as she seeks new opportunities. Her strategic vision and commitment to fostering a client-centric culture have led to remarkable improvements in performance
During Bhalla Johnson's leadership, GRS witnessed a significant turnaround, evidenced by impressive enhancements in its combined ratio and a well-defined strategic roadmap extending toward 2030. Before leading GRS, she served as Liberty Mutual's Chief Investment Officer, where she was pivotal in reshaping the investment business and advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
Tim Sweeney, Chairman and CEO of Liberty Mutual Insurance, acknowledged Bhalla Johnson's transformative contributions to the company. He commended her leadership style, stating, “Neeti has been a transformational leader at Liberty Mutual,” and underscored her influence in redefining the insurance industry amid evolving client needs. Sweeney expressed gratitude for her impactful tenure and support for her future endeavors.
As Bhalla Johnson transitions out of her role, she has committed to ensuring a seamless handover, continuing to support the leadership team in an advisory capacity until June 2026. Effective March 6, Matthew Moore, the current President of Underwriting for GRS, will step into the role of President. His extensive experience within Liberty Mutual, spanning over 24 years in various executive positions, positions him well to lead GRS into its next chapter.
Moore’s appointment reflects a focus on sustaining momentum in the division. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and respect for the groundwork laid by Bhalla Johnson, vowing to work collaboratively with the leadership team, partners, and employees to advance the company’s 2030 aspirations. According to Sweeney, Moore brings practical expertise and energy necessary to meet the expectations of clients, brokers, and partners effectively.
