The foundational objective of IITM Global is to establish IIT Madras as a globally interconnected hub for research, deep-tech innovations, entrepreneurship, and education. One of the cornerstone initiatives of IITM Global includes a collaboration with Rutgers University, located in New Jersey. This partnership aims to facilitate Joint Masters Programs, perform joint research, and advance IP commercialization strategies. Moreover, IITM Global plans to work closely with Stages Consulting, further enhancing its support for deep-tech startups. This collaboration includes offering mentoring and funding, in addition to providing access to state-of-the-art infrastructure near Princeton. During the launch event, Dr. Jaishankar emphasized the significance of IIT Madras's global presence. This partnership aims to provide these startups with financial support, corporate connections, and infrastructure, enhancing their chances for success in a competitive landscape. Together, both entities will facilitate smoother access to the U.S. market, propelling innovations and encouraging collaborative programs in emerging technologies.

Furthermore, it stands at #180 in the QS World University Rankings and #56 in the QS Asian University Rankings.
