Maeda Kosen Reports First Quarter Financial Results for FY2026

Overview of Maeda Kosen's First Quarter Financial Results

On November 14, 2025, Maeda Kosen Co., Ltd., a company specializing in the manufacturing and sales of civil engineering and construction materials, released its financial results for the first quarter of FY2026 (covering July 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025). The company, headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, revealed a total revenue of ¥18,742 million for the first quarter, representing a robust increase of 19.7% compared to the same period last year.

Performance Highlights

While the company experienced a decline in operating profit by 6.8% to ¥3,386 million, it saw an increase in ordinary profit, which rose by 10.6% to ¥3,701 million. The quarterly net profit attributable to parent company shareholders also saw growth, totaling ¥2,577 million, marking a 12.3% increase year-on-year.

Business Segment Performance

Social Infrastructure Division:
The civil engineering and construction materials sector performed well due to ongoing strong demand for social infrastructure maintenance and aging countermeasures, bolstered by government initiatives. Notably, the sales of geosynthetics, a key product, remained robust. Additionally, marine-related materials, such as pollution prevention membranes, riverbank protection materials, and maintenance-related supplies for structures also reported strong sales, exceeding the previous year's performance both in sales and profit. Although the seafood processing business faced challenges due to declining sales prices, overall, the performance of the group's subsidiaries, including the recently acquired Saikobo Co., Ltd. in December 2024 and Maeda Kosen Sanji Co., Ltd. in April 2025, aligned with the company’s expectations, contributing positively to the revenue and profit in this segment. For the first quarter, sales in this division reached ¥12,381 million, reflecting a significant increase of 39.9%, with an operating profit of ¥2,490 million, up 20.3%.

Industry Infrastructure Division:
In the automobile forged wheel sector, the sales volume for domestic OEM from BBS Japan Co., Ltd. experienced a decline, but overseas OEM and aftermarket sales remained strong, resulting in steady performance akin to last year. However, the overseas company, BBS Motorsport GmbH, saw significant declines in sales and profit from last year's figures due to the fallout from a large contract previously fulfilled. Despite this, the current period's performance is in line with the planned targets. In the clothing and various industrial materials sector, recovery in market conditions led to favorable sales of key products like precision instrument wiping cloths, resulting in both sales and profits surpassing last year’s achievements. The total sales for this division were ¥6,361 million, a decline of 6.6%, while operating profit dropped by 32.4% to ¥1,260 million.
