From August 8 to 11, 2025, the Ice Cream Park 2025 will be held at TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, a newly developed urban area connected directly to the Takanawa Gateway Station. Hosted by the Takanawa Gateway Area Management Association and produced by Happo-en, the event promises a gathering of premium ice creams, craft beers, and local sodas, creating the perfect environment to beat the summer heat.

A Unique Culinary Experience

During this four-day event, visitors will be able to enjoy over 50 flavors of ice cream sourced from various regions across Japan. Among the highlights are the iconic Babahera Ice from Akita Prefecture, crafted with expertise and presented in a beautiful floral arrangement using a spatula, symbolizing local craftsmanship. Other selections include the Gelato from Amami Oshima, which uses local ingredients, and Kuzu Ice from Kesennuma, Miyagi, giving a unique chewy texture that recalls nostalgic flavors.

Additionally, participants can cool off with a diverse variety of craft beers. The event will feature more than 15 types of craft beers and local sodas, allowing attendees to relish the distinct flavors and refreshing qualities they offer.

Cultural Activities for All Ages

Ice Cream Park 2025 is not just about indulgent treats; it also provides engaging cultural experiences for families. Visitors can witness the famous Namahage, a traditional tradition from Akita, known for its lively and spirited performances that engage the audience, especially children. This event will take place on August 9, with multiple sessions throughout the day. Additionally, participants will have the chance to partake in the creation of Washi Akari (Japanese paper lanterns), utilizing traditional Echizen paper, with workshops open from August 8 to 11. This cultural activity allows families to immerse themselves in local heritage while creating beautiful pieces to take home.
