Geely Cyan Racing Secures Fifth Win in the 2026 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour

The 2026 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour has reached a significant milestone with Geely Cyan Racing clinching its fifth victory of the season during the European rounds, which concluded in Vila Real, Portugal.

Race Highlights

In an exhilarating display of skill and strategy, the team’s standout driver, Yann Ehrlacher, claimed victory in the first race, contributing to the team's impressive performance where three drivers finished amongst the top four positions. The event showcased the competitive edge of the Geely Preface TCR car, which was recognized for its advanced chassis and drivetrain developed in-house by Geely.

The various European circuits, including Misano, Ricardo Tormo, Paul Ricard, and Vilá Real, posed a range of challenges. From sections that demanded high speeds to intricate technical turns, the team navigated these hurdles effectively, maintaining a robust lead of 56 points in the team standings. Santiago Urrutia currently leads the drivers’ championship, while Yann Ehrlacher stands fourth, with Thed Björk and Ma Qinghua in sixth and seventh places, respectively.

Global Expansion and Market Success

Beyond the thrilling races, Geely is pushing forward with its global expansion strategy. In the first half of 2026, the company reported an impressive global sales figure of over 1.1 million units. Furthermore, over a short span of just 45 days, Geely successfully entered seven European markets, including key countries like Germany and Spain. Notably, the Geely STARRAY EM-i was recognized as the best-selling PHEV SUV in Australia, illustrating the brand's growing footprint in various regions.

This momentum can be attributed to Geely's comprehensive global competencies in research and development, product offerings, services, and brand development. The company benefits from a diversified portfolio of sedans and SUVs, coupled with five testing regions across Asia and Europe alongside five R&D centers in countries including China, Europe, and Malaysia. This setup supports ongoing localization and technology advancements for the brand.

In addition to enhancing product offerings, initiatives such as GEELY •GO and GEELY Care+ are cultivating customer trust in the Geely brand. Recognition through esteemed international awards such as the “Automotive News PACE Award” and the “Red Dot Product Design Award” has further amplified the brand's credibility and influence.

Looking Forward to China

As the 2026 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour heads to China in October, stopping in Chengdu and Zhuzhou before concluding in Macau, Geely Cyan Racing is poised to leverage valuable experiences gained from the European races. Competing on Chinese racetracks will not only support Geely's motorsport presence globally but also represent an opportunity for the team to demonstrate their technical prowess on home ground.

With a focus on innovation, competitive spirit, and strategic expansion, Geely Cyan Racing is set to make an even bigger impact in the world of motorsport while bolstering Geely’s presence on the global stage.
