Vantage Foundation and Hands of Hope Laos Join Forces
In an inspiring step towards inclusivity, the Vantage Foundation has announced a partnership with the Hands of Hope Laos organization. This collaboration aims to enhance opportunities for deaf youth in Laos by providing comprehensive educational support. Many deaf children in the country face significant barriers to schooling due to prevalent discrimination and the lack of qualified teachers trained in deaf education and sign language.
Founded in 2010 by Sophaphone Heuanglith, Hands of Hope Laos aims to empower deaf students by equipping them with both academic and vocational skills necessary for self-sufficiency and community contribution. The school provides a nurturing environment where students receive free education, housing, meals, and healthcare. In this supportive setting, there are no barriers—only connection and acceptance. Children live, learn, eat, and grow together, cultivating language skills, a sense of community belonging, self-confidence, and social connections.
Representatives from the Vantage Foundation recently met with Sophaphone Heuanglith to discuss their commitment to supporting and nurturing these children who suffer from societal discrimination. Recognizing the significant work being carried out by Hands of Hope Laos, the Vantage Foundation hopes to raise awareness about the needs and potential of deaf children, creating inclusive community support opportunities.
"Every child deserves to be seen, heard, and valued," says Sophaphone Heuanglith, founder of Hands of Hope Laos. "In our school, we teach more than just language—we help our students find their voice, self-identity, and place in the world."
Steven Xie, executive director at Vantage Foundation, added, "Hands of Hope represents the kind of impact we strive to support through our foundation. We are proud to stand behind Sophaphone and her team, helping them break barriers and create lasting opportunities for these children."
This partnership reflects the ongoing mission of the Vantage Foundation to promote inclusive initiatives that elevate underserved communities. By investing in education and empowerment, the foundation seeks to build a more equitable future where every child, regardless of their abilities, has a chance to succeed.
