Pegatron 5G Highlights Industrial Network Solutions at MWC 2025
Pegatron 5G Showcases Cutting-Edge Solutions at MWC 2025
The Mobile World Congress 2025 held in Barcelona has seen Pegatron 5G take center stage, presenting a host of end-to-end 5G O-RAN products designed to optimize private industrial networks. Among the notable offerings included the RedCap Camera and Dongle, alongside solutions that enhance low-latency enterprise connectivity. As key industry players such as Qualcomm Technologies, Radisys, and VIAVI partnered with Pegatron, the collective aim is to redefine the standards of network performance.
Advances in 5G Functionality
CY Feng, Pegatron’s General Manager of Communication Products, expressed excitement about the enhancements these technologies bring to private networks. He emphasized that the collaboration with Qualcomm and other partners is pivotal for meeting the demanding needs of industrial applications. The RedCap product line, featuring a 5G camera named “Muscat” and the “MD200” dongle equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon® X35 Modem-RF system, exemplifies Pegatron's commitment to making advanced 5G capabilities accessible at competitive prices.
Low-Latency Networking
A highlight of Pegatron’s showcase included a live demonstration of a low-latency 5G network on an O-RAN topology, presented in collaboration with VIAVI. The demonstration featured innovative optimization techniques such as the Themis Scheduler, frame structure optimization, TTI merging, and more, resulting in significant reductions in latency and jitter. David Hoelscher, Pegatron 5G’s VP of Products, noted the stringent specifications and thorough testing required for effective low-latency industrial environments. This is further supported by partnerships with Radisys and Metanoia for integrated connectivity solutions.
Layer 2 PDU Demonstration
During the event, Pegatron illustrated Layer 2 PDU showcasing 5G wireless transport of industrial Ethernet protocols like PROFINET, facilitated by HMS Networks’ Anybus Communicator. Henrik Arleving, HMS Networks’ Wireless Anybus Product Manager, commented on how these advances could significantly enhance efficiency in traditional factories transitioning to wireless Industry 4.0 environments.
Innovations in Network Architecture
Introducing the PNW-2400 Network-in-Radio, Pegatron highlighted integrated solutions that merge radio and computing functionalities using advanced technologies from Radisys. This product promises to meet the growing demand for flexible deployment in private 5G networks, particularly in remote locations. It leverages the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ FSM200 for small cell applications and incorporates a high-performance NPU, enabling robust 5G functionalities within a compact design.
Conclusion: A Comprehensive Portfolio for the Future
As Pegatron 5G prepares to roll out a comprehensive suite of 5G ORAN products, including advanced enterprise solutions and management systems, it continues to position itself as a pioneering force in digital communications. The collaborative efforts showcased at MWC 2025 not only underline the potential of Pegatron 5G but also signal a promising future for interconnected industrial environments, optimized by cutting-edge 5G technologies.
