The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has launched an initiative aimed at fostering continuous innovation within the Tama region, which is home to many technologically adept SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises). By connecting these companies with universities and research institutions, the aim is to create a sustainable ecosystem that sparks growth and innovation.
Recently, they announced an open call for businesses to submit their innovative ideas to resolve the pressing social issues faced by the Tama region. This initiative seeks to actualize collaborative business proposals from multiple entities to make a tangible impact on the local community.
Key Requirements for Business Ideas
Applicants are encouraged to develop business ideas that address specific social issues affecting the Tama area. The business idea should meet the following criteria:

Support Offered
The Tokyo government commits to supporting collaborative efforts aimed at solving the Tama region's challenges through:

- - Networking Opportunities: Help in connecting with necessary collaborators.
- - Funding Support: Up to 1 million yen will be provided to facilitate the actualization of the business idea.

The support period is set from late November 2026 to the end of February 2027, allowing time for development and implementation of the selected business ideas.
