Kitchen Space 831 Hosts Seasonal Cooking Workshop

Kenkoma Mayonnaise Co., based in Suginami, Tokyo, is proud to run the cooking school "Kitchen Space 831" aimed at the general public. Recently, they participated in a delightful cooking workshop as part of the Owner Appreciation Festival hosted by Sumitomo Forestry Co. Held on November 30 at the TOTO, DAIKEN, YKK AP Tokyo collaboration showroom in Shibuya, the workshop titled "Enjoy Seasonal Flower Piping and Floral Sushi" showcased the culinary expertise of the Kitchen Space 831 instructors.

The event provided attendees with hands-on experiences in creating beautifully decorated cupcakes and crafting vibrant sushi using vegetables. The instructors guided participants through the techniques of piping sweet bean paste into charming floral designs and wrapping sushi with colorful ingredients.

Floral Piping Fun

During the workshop, participants eagerly engaged in floral piping, using sweet bean paste for cupcake decorations. Each attendee had the chance to transform white bean paste into colorful floral shapes using beet powder, creating visually stunning designs. Matcha-infused bean paste was also utilized, forming intricate Christmas wreaths. The concentration on the faces of attendees as they decorated their cupcakes was striking, with many excitedly capturing pictures of their creations.

Crafting Floral Sushi

Participants also learned to make eye-catching floral sushi, resembling camellia flowers, using two types of radishes: red-fleshed daikon and white daikon. This dish is perfect for entertaining guests or celebrating special occasions. The key to its exceptional flavor lies in marinating the vegetables with the company's signature "Plentiful Citrus Dressing" and honey. Attendees easily crafted this beautiful dish by spreading the marinated radish on sushi rice and rolling them together, making it suitable for all ages to enjoy creating.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with comments like, "I want to practice floral piping at home," "I lost track of time because I was so focused," and "It was such a fun experience!" The event concluded on a high note with great enthusiasm.
