Acquisition of Arossa and Manuel Restaurants by Libera Food & Beverage
On May 1, 2025,
Libera Food & Beverage, based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, will officially take over the operations of five restaurants specializing in Oceania and Portuguese cuisines,
Arossa and
Manuel. This acquisition marks a significant expansion in Libera's dining ventures, aiming to enrich customer experiences through a diverse range of culinary offerings.
Arossa: A Taste of Australia's Finest
Arossa operates two distinct restaurants showcasing the vibrant flavors of Australia and New Zealand. In the bustling halls of
Shibuya, patrons can find over
250 varieties of Australian wines, paired with dishes that infuse fresh Australian ingredients with French culinary techniques. Meanwhile, the
Ginza location delights guests with an all-New Zealand menu, serving exquisite grilled options such as tender lamb, grass-fed beef, and venison, all accentuated by top-notch local wines. The restaurants ensure an immersive dining experience where customers can fully appreciate the unique appeal of Australian and New Zealand cuisines in a stylish atmosphere.
Manuel: Embarking on a Portuguese Culinary Journey
Manuel, recognized as Japan's first authentic Portuguese restaurant, encompasses three distinctive venues. At
Yotsuya, guests can enjoy traditional dishes amid the melodies of
Fado, Portugal's iconic music. The
Marunouchi branch adopts a casual tavern style, focusing on meat-centric delights and a curated wine selection, whereas
Jiyugaoka offers a relaxed setting perfect for indulging in Portuguese tapas. This diverse dining portfolio caters to various occasions, whether casual meals or fine dining experiences, allowing patrons to delve deeply into Portugal’s rich culinary culture.
Enhancing Culinary Experiences in Japan
With this strategic acquisition, Libera Food & Beverage not only strengthens its position in the Japanese dining market but also emphasizes its commitment to expanding diverse culinary traditions that enrich the experiences of its customers. Previously, the company had focused on its coffee business,
Komeda Coffee, but now aims to broaden its horizons further.
Rest assured, the menus and services of the acquired restaurants will remain unchanged for the time being, ensuring that customers continue to enjoy the same high-quality offerings that made these dining establishments popular. Going forward, Libera intends to leverage the existing strengths of Arossa and Manuel while introducing enhancements that will elevate the overall dining experience to new heights.
The company envisions itself as a premier group introducing carefully selected Oceania ingredients and wines, continuing to evolve and adapt to meet the discerning tastes of diners in Japan.
