List Group Opens New Dance Studio 'The Port by List' in Yokohama

Opening of 'The Port by List'

Yokohama's real estate powerhouse, List Corporation, has officially opened its professional dance team List::X's dedicated studio named 'The Port by List' in Yamashita-cho, Yokohama. This new space is part of an initiative to regenerate and invigorate the local community, aimed at nurturing Japan's burgeoning dance culture.

This dance studio is housed within the Yokohama Yamashita-cho Building, which has undergone renovations by List Development Company since 2022. The facility aims to serve as a lively hub for the arts and local youth, fostering a deeper connection to the cultural scene in Yokohama. Directly across from the studio stands the iconic Yokohama Marine Tower, co-managed by List Properties, and together, these establishments are committed to community building and cultural support.

Currently involved in urban redevelopment efforts in areas such as Tsujido and the revitalization of the Uraga station area, List Development is positioning itself as a key player in enhancing Yokohama’s culture and urban fabric.

Studio Features

The design of 'The Port by List' resonates with the essence of Yokohama’s maritime heritage, envisioned as a “port” for artistic exchange among dancers and artists. It not only serves as a training space but also as a collaborative venue where various art forms can thrive. The studio will actively engage local dancers and children, creating opportunities for cultural enrichment and community interaction.

Featuring two dance floors and a cozy lounge café area, the facility is designed for relaxation amidst practice and serves as a welcoming space for locals to aspire toward artistic pursuits. The café is intended to be a communal hub, where art and dance converge through events such as mini concerts and gallery exhibits, promoting an environment where connections blossom and culture cultivates.

The studio is conveniently located on the seventh floor of the Yokohama Yamashita-cho Building at 36 Yamashita-cho, Naka-ku, and is only a one-minute walk from Motomachi-Chukagai Station on the Minatomirai Line.

Upcoming Events

Looking ahead, 'The Port by List' plans to host a series of workshops starting in February 2026, led by professional dancers from List::X, as part of their initiative to expand dance education and community outreach. A dance school opening is also in the works, where participants can learn from dancers that actively compete in the D.LEAGUE, a significant professional dance league in Japan. More details regarding these events will be announced via List::X’s social media platforms.
