Exciting Announcement: Cool Japan Frontier Event
On October 3, 2025, an exciting event will take place in Tokyo at the Akasaka Intercity Conference. The Cabinet Office Intellectual Property Strategy Promotion Office will host "Cool Japan Frontier toward 2033". This much-anticipated gathering aims to enhance Japan's cultural presence worldwide, facilitating broader experiences in Japanese culture and increasing inbound tourism.
The event stems from the new Cool Japan strategy, which was officially decided by the Intellectual Property Strategy Headquarters on June 4, 2024. The goal is not only to promote Japan's allure on the global stage but also to deepen the Cool Japan initiative by enhancing public-private partnerships since the establishment of the Cool Japan Public-Private Partnership Platform (CJPF) in December 2015. The CJPF aims to strengthen collaboration among various sectors and stakeholders to foster a dynamic exchange and co-creation environment.
As part of the preparations for achieving the designated Key Goal Indicator (KGI) for 2033 outlined in the new strategy, significant changes were introduced to the CJPF in July 2024, including the appointment of a new Executive Director. This restructuring is designed to boost engagement among participants within the Cool Japan industries, thereby raising collaborative efforts across the board.
