Transpacific Future Center Opens Permanent Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Transpacific Future Center's New Headquarters

The Transpacific Future Center (TPFC) has officially opened its permanent headquarters in Washington, D.C., marking a significant milestone in its mission to connect leaders and address key issues in the transpacific region. With this move, TPFC aims to create a robust platform for dialogue, leadership, and collaboration.

Danielle Reed, the Executive Director of TPFC, expressed enthusiasm about this development, stating, “A permanent home in Washington enables us to deepen our work, convene diverse perspectives, and build partnerships.” This sentiment reflects TPFC's commitment to fostering a prosperous and interconnected future for the transpacific area.

The new headquarters also signifies TPFC's dedication to enhancing its programming and outreach initiatives. With the establishment of this hub, TPFC plans to focus on various collaborative efforts that span multiple sectors, ensuring that both established and emerging leaders have the support they need to tackle pressing challenges and seizing opportunities.

A pivotal aspect of TPFC's foundation is its collaboration with the United States-Japan Foundation (US-JF), which will serve as the anchor tenant within the TPFC building. Jake Schlesinger, President and CEO of US-JF, noted the exciting vision set forth by Reed and Evermay leaders. “We’re thrilled now to see that vision become a reality and honored to be a part of it,” Schlesinger said. The foundation is dedicated to enhancing bilateral ties and tackling shared challenges between the US and Japan.

This ambitious project was significantly boosted by a transformative donation from Evermay, a noteworthy supporter in the landscape of international philanthropy. The organization donated the historic Jefferson Place property to facilitate TPFC’s long-term growth and operational needs, which also includes a $3 million operating endowment. Evermay instead reframes the past and future, applying historical wisdom to modern circumstances for the benefit of humanity.

The TPFC intends to further its programs from this newly established Washington headquarters, including the U.S.-Japan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fellowship, supported by the Japan Foundation. This fellowship is designed to foster international cultural exchange and innovation, demonstrating TPFC’s strong commitment to global cooperation.

Overall, the establishment of a permanent headquarters in Washington, D.C., signifies a new chapter for the Transpacific Future Center. It underlines the importance of a unified approach to address the complexities of today’s geopolitical landscape in the transpacific region, promoting economic security and shared prosperity. The creation of this hub will not only provide a space for dialogue but also enhance the partnerships that contribute to lasting impacts across the transpacific area. With a clear vision and a dedicated mission, TPFC is gearing up to make substantial contributions that resonate well beyond Washington, D.C.
