Niki Town's Walking Wine Festival Set for Summer 2025: A Unique Outdoor Experience

The highly anticipated Walking Wine Festival will return to Niki Town on July 13, 2025, promising wine enthusiasts a summer event like no other. Organized by the Walking Wine Festival Niki Executive Committee, this outdoor celebration will showcase local wines paired with delicious food from various restaurants.

Embracing the Scenic Beauty of Niki

Niki Town, located in Hokkaido's Yoichi district, has gained recognition as a prominent wine-producing area, particularly under Japan's Cabinet Office's Special Structural Reform Zone initiative. Known for its picturesque landscapes, Niki is home to many wineries and vineyards, making it an ideal spot for wine tourism.

The festival will feature eleven local wine producers gathered within a 1.7 km walking distance in the Asahidai area, where visitors can enjoy a remarkable selection of wines. In addition, 19 restaurants will present special pairing dishes, prepared predominantly with local ingredients. Following its sold-out success last year, this year's festival will welcome an additional 100 participants, elevating the total number to 500.

Ticket Information

The entry fee for the festival is 3,000 JPY per person, which includes a glass holder and shuttle bus services; however, wine and food costs are separate. Tickets are available only through the Peatix event site, and early registration is essential as spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
